As the ancient proverb [probably] goes, it’s always fashion week somewhere, and this week, it’s the turn of Stockholm. The Scandinavian capital kicks off its second newly imagined event this Monday [November 6] after reimagining what the traditional fashion week model looked like in 2022.
What’s on the agenda? Across the course of the week, the Swedish Fashion Council will present a diverse showcase of events, ranging from fashion presentations, showroom visits, screenings, exhibitions, performances, and loads, loads more. The line-up ranges from established, homegrown, heavyweights like All Blues, Eytys, and Our Legacy, to the rising stars that make up the SFC’s talent incubator programme, including Rave Review, Feben, Hodakova, and AVAVAV.
Wedged between these showcases will be a series of talks, curated as part of a longstanding partnership between Dazed and the SFC. First up is a conversation between Dazed’s Izzy Farmiloe, who’s set to host buzzy brand and mag ALL-IN, NY wunder-PR Gia Kuan, and fashion buyer Nick Tran. The four will discuss the importance and practicalities of supporting the next gen of fashion leaders.
A conversation discussing identity, cultural exchange, and community building in the creative industries will follow behind, with this one hosted by Dazed’s Kacion Mayers and featuring designer Feben and Homecoming festival founder Grace Ladoja. Rounding it all off is something both Dazed and the SFC know how to do: a huge party set to rage on into the cold Swedish night. Held at cultural hub Värmeverket, Bambii, Broodoo Ramses, Jahanam, and Prof. Stranger will be taking us through into the early hours.

A-COLD-WALL* AND CONVERSE GET BACK TOGETHER A-COLD-WALL*
A-COLD-WALL* and Converse’s creative partnership goes way back, with founder Samuel Ross linking up with the revered footwear label a handful of times to turn out unique, forward-thinking and technically innovative updates on classic styles. Now, the two powerhouses come together again to debut a typically stripped back take on the OG Converse Chuck 70 Geo Forma boot. Presented in an all-black and moody slate grey colourway and blending Ross’s trademark functional, utilitarian aesthetic with Brutalist flourishes, the moulded boot is designed to take on all the elements Mother Nature can throw at you. Alongside the footwear, there’s also a selection of cosy, comfy, functional apparel including sweats and classic tees, with the whole thing brought to life in an accompanying campaign by Abdourahman Njie – aka London-based artist Yagamoto. GUCCI AND BILLIE EILISH LINK UP AGAIN
Gucci is getting innovative with its latest release, dropping its new skew-whiff 1955 Horsebit bag in a new formulation utilising 75% Demetra – a plant-derived, animal-free material that you won’t believe is not leather. Showing off the future-facing style in an accompanying campaign is longtime Gucci girl Billie Eilish, who stars in a cute day-in-the-life of video playing a tiny keyboard and swinging on a tree swing overlooking the city. Wholesome AF.
OUT WITH THE OLD, IN WITH THE NEW AT BLUMARINE
The game of musical chairs at the top of fashion still isn’t quite over, as Blumarine announced its replacement for Nicola Brognano, who rejuvenated the butterfly-strewn Y2K fave across the course of the last three years. Step forward Walter Chiapponi, who’s taking over the va-va-voom Italian house after stints at Miu Miu, Gucci, Bottega Veneta, and, most recently, Tod’s. Hold tight to see what he has in store for us come the women’s AW24 shows in February.
THOM BROWNE CELEBRATES THE BIG 2-0
For the 20th anniversary of his eponymous brand, Thom Browne invited a cast of buzzy young actors for a slap up meal, creating an ad campaign of their arrivals to remind us all we weren’t invited. House faves Jenna Ortega, Chase Sui Wonders, Lee Pace and Evan Mock all showed up to The Grill in NYC, joined by newcomers Lola Tung and Christopher Briney from The Summer I Turned Pretty. Also in attendance were model Sora Choi, writer Jeremy O. Harris and New York housewife Jenna Lyons. Five stars all around.

KIM PLAYS A BLINDER WITH SWAROVSKI SKIMS…
Kim Kardashian has continued her lifelong quest to become Marilyn Monroe by plopping on a blonde wig and bedazzling a bodysuit for her latest SKIMS collection. The new Swarovski collab clearly takes cues from Monroe’s Bob Mackie dress, which Kardashian infamously wore to the 2022 Met Gala. If Monroe was right, and diamonds really are a girl’s best friend, then a Swarovski SKIMS bodysuit is the party girl you only see on nights out – fun, flirty, and hand wash only.

Not content with SKIMS collabing with Swarovski, launching a mens line, and becoming the official underwear partner of the NBA, Kim carved some time out of her busy schedule to lounge around in a sparkly top for Marc Jacobs’ new campaign. In an accompanying video, the first lady of reality TV is decked out in an all-over monogram catsuit, rhinestone Kiki boots and a cornea-shattering clutch. Leave some column inches for the rest of us Kim!

CHARLES JEFFREY DECKS THE BALLS
This past summer, Charles Jeffrey’s LOVERBOY brand set up shop at Wedgwood, plastering their duck-egg Jasperware tea sets in splotches of brightly coloured paint. Now, the clothing company and fine china brand link up for a second collab, with LOVERBOY bringing their signature splatter to some Christmas baubles. In the campaign video, Jeffrey individually hand-paints (hand-squirts?) 493 Wedgwood baubles, making for a very, messy Christmas indeed.
