‘I found a bang on-trend £25 dress in River Island’s sale for summer weddings’
As a fashion writer who also loves to keep up with the latest trends, I am always eager to see what shoppers will be wearing each season.
Despite the UK weather not showing it, it is officially summer, and there have been quite a few trends that have emerged. However, one that seems to be really dominating everywhere is lemon yellow, with River Island even confirming it as a “new colour to love”.
Which is why I was incredibly excited to spot one dress in the retailer’s sale that fits in perfectly with this season’s ‘it’ trend. For the fashion fans among us, the clothing firm’s sale has slashed the cost of thousands of items for you to nab right now.
After rummaging through, I spotted this Yellow Plisse Halter Neck Shift Maxi Dress on offer for just £25, down from £65 – saving shoppers an impressive £40 off the RRP. Not only is it on-trend, but its elegant design makes it perfect for any fancy event.
Available in sizes from a UK 8 to a 22, this dress boasts that ‘buttery’ lemon yellow colour that has been spotted on influencers and in many fashion stores this year. If you’re not overly keen on the colour, it is also available in blue, but it is full-price.

Not just on-trend, but the chic pleated nature of the dress and maxi-length hemline mean that it is perfect for any summer weddings. It is completed with a halter neckline that is fastened with buttons, alongside a breezy sleeveless design that makes it ideal for warmer weather.

With its classy design, I’d personally suggest dressing this £25 yellow frock up, rather than casual. Bronze tends to compliment the vibrancy of yellow, and I am loving these Bronze Shell Detail Lace Up Heeled Sandals, currently on offer for £25, down from £65.
I am not the only fan of the retailer’s summer dress, as it has also been spotted on sustainable fashion influencer @harleydee_style. The influencer paired it with a bold print blazer, strappy heels and a pink handbag to a summer wedding.

The high street fashion retailer’s £29.99 Wide Trousers have received glowing praise from thousands of shoppers for their fit and material. With wide-leg designs being ‘in’ this season, we can understand why they are popular.
With wide, straight legs with creases, these trousers are an “on trend” item that you can pop into your everyday wardrobe. Boasting a highly coveted high waist design, they are also flattering on the figure.
The woven fabric of the trousers is also said to “not wrinkle”, meaning they are easy to care for and can be popped into your suitcase without getting crumpled. Finishing the trousers is a concealed hook-and-eye fastener with a zip fly.
You can bag these trousers in sizes ranging from a UK 6 through to 22. You can also choose from six neutral colours that will go with anything – black, light beige, beige, white, navy blue and cream.
Averaging a 4.3 rating based on nearly 2,000 reviews, the Wide Trousers remain one of H&M’s most popular items, as shoppers say they “fit like a glove” and have bought “all different colours”.

If you want to shop the lemon yellow trend from other retailers, then I am also obsessed with this Yellow Floral Linen-blend Pippin Midi Dress from Nobody’s Child. The dress has been dropped from £79 to just £47.40.
The trend is also available as a print, as H&M’s new season collection has a wide range of items printed with the zesty fruit. One that I want for myself is the £32.99 Linen-blend maxi skirt.
