Our favourite fashion and beauty moments from the Paris Olympics- RUSSH

There’s been plenty to talk about at this year’s Paris 2024 Olympics. From the impeccable street style on display, to the host of new characters going viral on social media (who isn’t thinking about that Turkish shooter?). But of course, as a fashion publication, we’d be remiss not to talk about all the best fashion and beauty moments happening both on and off the podiums. So below, we round up some of our favourites for us to look back on…

Simone Biles’ diamond ‘GOAT’ necklace

After winning gold once more at the women’s gymnastics, USA gymnast Simone Biles proudly showcased a diamond necklace in the shape of a goat, symbolised her status as the Greatest Of All Time (G.O.A.T). Her historic sixth gold medal makes her the first gymnast to win two non-consecutive titles and the first woman to own two Olympic all-around gold medals since Vera Čáslavská in the 1960s.

Snoop Dogg and Martha Stewart’s dressage costumes

It’s no secret that Snoop Dogg loves the dressage event at the Olympics – who can forget that iconic video of him and Kevin Hart reacting to the event in Tokyo? And perhaps even more iconic is Snoop’s friendship with none other than Martha Stewart. And both were on hosting duties this year, and took it upon themselves to go all-out in full garb at this year’s event. Helmets included.

Ilona Maher’s lipstick-wearing win

US rugby union player Ilona Maher may have gone viral this Olympics for her sense of humour, style and charisma, but also for her determination to circumvent stereotypes about femininity and masculinity (and how they can coexist in whatever way you’d like). The olympian has become known for wearing a full face of makeup on the field, including lipstick, which she told Allure earlier this year was “Maybelline Super Stay Matte Ink. It stays up to the point where you’ve got to work to get it off.”

Coco Gauff’s coquette braids

US tennis star (and grand slam champ) Coco Guaff decorated her on-court braids with coquette-inspired patriotic ribbons in white, red and blue. And with a navy bandana to boot.
