M&S’ shoppers go wild for ‘elite’ Christmas food item that ‘looks unreal’

When it comes to Christmas food, there is no denying that Marks and Spencer has become a go-to for many foodies over the years.

The retailer is certainly no stranger when it comes to show-stopping festive treats, with many shoppers raving over their seasonal range, whether that be a Christmas-themed Colin the Caterpillar or a Magical Light Up Chocolate Village.

And shoppers taste buds were sent salivating even further after the retailer debuted a range of seven new festive sandwiches in its cafes earlier this month, and the Turkey Toastie with Gravy Dipper has already become a bit of a TikTok sensation.

M&S’ cafe item has given the humble toastie a bit of a festive twist, as it is packed full of shredded British turkey breast, smoked British ham hock, stuffing, cranberry ketchup and nutty Emmental cheese – to top it all off, there is a pot of gravy to dip into.

The festive toastie has already been a hit with other foodies after TikTok user, @lucyabigaill, took to the video sharing platform to show it off in a video that has since been viewed 1.8 million times.

The quick 10 second clip was captioned: “M&S Turkey toastie with dipping gravy.”

Eager foodies were quick to flock to the comments section to rave over the festive toastie, with some going as far as to proclaim it as an “elite” menu item that they couldn’t wait to try for themselves.

One excited customer said: “I work in an M&S cafe and this is by far my favourite to toast cause it smells SO GOOD.”

A second raved: “Omg I had this today and it was elite. Though reminder to ask for the gravy as they forgot to bring mine with my toastie.”

A third excited shopper commented: “This looks unreal.”

A fourth added: “Oh my gosh! I’ve never wanted to go to M&S cafe! I do now!!”

And a fifth said: “Omg I wanna try this.”

While the Turkey Toastie was certainly met with an overwhelmingly positive response from shoppers, one did mention that they would have liked the gravy to be a “bit thicker.”

The Turkey Toastie with Gravy Dipper is included in M&S’ Christmas cafe range that also features other sandwiches, such as the festive Sausage, Bacon & Cranberry Ciabatta and a Turkey Feast Sandwich.

Sweet-toothed fans can also treat themselves to holiday-themed treats that include Mince Pies, a Festive Yule Log and a Mini Christmas Colin.
