Before pivoting to writing, Dorian worked as a marketing consultant for international clients with an emphasis in Japan. She represented major label and indie artists, helping to distribute their music into the Americas as well as supported touring opportunities for them. Dorian transitioned to writing after the birth of her child because she wanted to be a present parent.

Favorite Purchase:

Truthfully, I feel like I’m pretty good at getting my money’s worth whenever I go shopping. However, two purchases stand out as smart long-term investments. First, I got LASIK in 2009. I definitely spent more than most places advertise because I was very nearsighted, but being able to see clearly for the first time in 21 years made every penny worth it. Second, Global Entry. It’s only $100 and zipping through customs when I return home from international trips, and using TSA Precheck when I travel domestically on basic economy tickets is a serious time saver.
