This Fashion Editor Designed A Clever Three-Part Bridal Look She Can Actually Wear Again

While she hasn’t yet had the opportunity to rewear the look, she isn’t waiting on a special occasion and intends to dress the separates down, as her personal style is all about an eccentric, high-low mix. Olivia plans on wearing the silk corset with baggy jeans and pairing the silk skirt with a shrunken T-shirt, socks and Mary-Janes. “The tulle underskirt is more of a statement piece on its own, but I will find a way to rewear it – maybe over some printed pants or something.”

As a London-based fashion editor, she was keen to assemble her entire look with pieces from emerging talent from the capital. As for accessories, she selected items that share this same fashion-forward sensibility, and that don’t require a fancy invitation to rewear. Instead of heels, she wore a pair of Molly Goddard leather tie-up-the-leg ballet flats, which she could “run around in”, and wore two ear cuffs by Completedworks, which is known for its playful twist on conventional pearl and crystal bridal jewellery.

Olivia and her husband Fred Page had been together for a decade when they got married (he proposed on their 10-year anniversary), and their origin story is worthy of a Richard Curtis film — Olivia’s father was the best man at Fred’s parents wedding in 1988. “They lost touch for years, but reconnected when we were teenagers and we became friends first, eventually becoming a couple a few years later,” recalls Olivia. “Our wedding was in Marrakech on September 23. When we set the date we hadn’t realised that Fred’s parents had also got married, with my dad as best man, on September 23, which added another level of poignancy.”

They got married in London officially at Hackney Town Hall in June, followed by lunch at Brawn on Columbia Road, which is where they dined on the night of their proposal. Marrakech is the first place they went on holiday together as a couple, 11 years ago, and have gone back together almost every year since. “It has become a home from home for us and has such magic energy,” she explains.
