New Look’s ‘gorgeous’ £20 skirt in 11 colours ‘will go with boots or trainers’
Fashion fans have been raving over a “gorgeous” satin skirt from New Look that can be “dressed up or down” – and it’s currently on sale.
While Black Friday does not officially go live until this Friday, November 24, many major fashion retailers have launched early sales for shoppers to update their autumn wardrobe without breaking the bank.
This includes New Look, where shoppers can currently get up to 40 per cent off a range of items online right now. Included in the sale is the Shine Satin Bias Cut Midaxi Skirt, which has been dropped from £25.99 to £20.99 – a total saving of 23 per cent.
The high street retailer’s budget skirt has a bias cut, meaning that it has been constructed in a way that gives the fabric more of an elastic stretch, making it both easy and comfortable to wear, reports the Manchester Evening News.
Not just flattering to wear, as it is also incredibly versatile. With its simple design and midaxi length, it can be paired well with a jumper and trainers for a casual look, or even a jumper and heeled boots for something more dressed up.

Even better, fashion fans can snap the £20 skirt up in 10 different colourways – black, dark grey, camel, khaki, green, navy, indigo, red, burgundy and gold. Sizes currently range from a UK 6 to 22, depending on the colour you buy.
Averaging a 4.7 out of five star rating on the retailer’s website, shoppers have praised the “flattering” skirt that they say they “can’t wait to wear with smart boots or trainers.”

One glowing review read: “Lovely skirt for the price. Very flattering and the cut is amazing. Will definitely get in another colour.”
A second penned: “I never normally write reviews but this skirt is lovely, elasticated waist and lovely cut, can be dressed up or down with trainer or heels…have already purchased it in grey.”
Another gushed: “Gorgeous skirt, satin material but not super shiny which I prefer. Waist band isn’t gathered so tucking in looks great. Looks more expensive than price suggests. I’m 5ft 6ins and it’s below mid calf length. Can’t wait to wear with smart boots or trainers and knitwear but also perfect to dress up for smart evening use.”
While a fourth added: “Lovely flattering cut and shade of soft gold. Bought this for the festive season but will still be able to wear this next year. Just be careful if wearing jewellery as this material catches easily.”
However, not all reviews were positive, as one shopper wasn’t keen on the material and length, writing: “Nice skirt, beautiful colour, a little clingy but in a flattering way, unfortunately a bit long for me, I’m 5ft 1ins but getting it taken up.”
Similar options shoppers can also buy from the high street include River Island’s £30 Satin Maxi Skirt that is available in six different colours. Meanwhile, M&S has slashed the cost of the Nobody’s Child Satin Maxi Slip Skirt from £55 to £44.
