Iconic Michael Cinco gowns worn by beauty queens, Hollywood celebrities are up for sale
Dubai-based Filipino fashion designer Michael Cinco has left an indelible mark on the fashion landscape with his iconic creations worn by celebrities worldwide.
Some of his legendary pieces were displayed at the Philippine Legacy Gala 2023 on Monday, November 27, 2023.
Mounted by Archie Tan and Albert Andrada, the philanthropic fashion gala took place in the opulent grand ballroom of the Manila Marriott Hotel in Pasay City.
During the silent auction hosted by Tim Yap and Angelee delos Reyes, it was announced that some of Michael’s iconic gowns are for sale.
But Michael later said in an interview after the auction that the gowns are not up for auction, but are just on display.
He told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), “Actually, it’s not for auction. It is for the Metaverse, It’s for NFT that was [shown] during the Metaverse Show. Some of them are both in NFT. So we’re just showing the pieces.”
Before the Philippine Legacy Gala 2023, the gowns from the silent auction were also announced for sale at the Metaverse Fashion Gala in September 2023, held at the same venue during the Philippine Blockchain Week.
PEP.ph sought clarification from Chezka Gonzales, one of the founders of Philippine Blockchain Week, through a phone interview on Friday, December 1, 2023.
Chezka was introduced as the designated contact person for gown inquiries during the Philippine Legacy Gala 2023.
She confirmed that the gowns are indeed for sale.
According to a document forwarded by Chezka to PEP.ph, a total of 10 gowns designed by Michael are available for purchase.
Each iconic gown “comes with a corresponding minted NFT that serves as authentication for the gown designed and signed by Michael.”
The document also stated that “a portion of the proceeds will support three charities,” namely: the Global Reskilling Movement, Worldwide Fund for Nature, and Global Spectrum Initiative.
At the Philippine Legacy Gala 2023, Michael will also be supporting the Philippine Missionari Della Fondazione di Carita, Inc. and Gusi Peace Prize Foundation.
One of the gowns up for sale is the iconic sapphire blue ball gown worn by Miss Universe 2015, Pia Wurtzbach, during her finale walk at the Miss Universe 2016.
The pageant’s grand coronation night was held in the Philippines on January 30, 2017.

The scarlet red ombré couture gown, worn by Miss Universe 2016 Iris Mittenaere, is also available for purchase.
This gown made its first appearance during Iris’s farewell walk at the Miss Universe 2017 pageant held at the Axis Theater, Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, in December 2017.
