Southlake Mall adds temporary stores for the holidays

Hickory Farms and other temporary retailers have cropped up in the Southlake Mall for the holiday season, offering Christmas ornaments, meat and cheese baskets and other gifts.

Bethlehem Gifts, Urban Sox, JJ Accessories and Hickory Farms all opened this month to take advantage of the increased traffic during the holiday shopping season, Southlake Mall Marketing and Business Development Manager Kristyn Filetti said.

Bethlehem Gifts personalizes ornaments and sells religious woodworking in the center court on the lower level. Urban Sox sells socks by Sunglass Hut. JJ Accessories sells clothes like sundresses and flare pants, as well as ponchos, blankets, winter accessories, shoulder bags and costume jewelry on the lower level.

“It has jewelry, scarves and hats,” Filetti said. “They took space by H&M by the entrance.”

Chicago-based Hickory Farm, a longstanding brand, is known for its cheese, summer sausage, charcuterie and gourmet food, specializing in gift boxes and baskets.

Most will only be at the super-regional mall at U.S. 30 and Mississippi Street through the end of December.

“All of the leases vary,” she said. “Some will be here early next year.”

Southlake Mall offers short-term leases in both kiosks and storefronts year-round.
