Inspiration Unlocked: 5 Spring Makeup Trends You MUST Try

The spring season is here, and as you prepare for Sunday brunches with the girls, it’s time to revamp your makeup routine. Spring makeup trends in 2024 may seem subtle, but they will showcase bold results. Grab your pastels, blushes, and cream contours because this year is all about soft lines and bright colors!

Most folks follow the saying, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” However, a new season naturally calls for a switch-up. According to Chinese horoscopes, 2024 is the year of renewal! You’ve been rocking that same ole makeup routine for a while now, so it’s time to add new techniques and colors into the mix. Here are five spring makeup trends you MUST try!

1. U.K. Black Girl Makeup: Uche Edition

U.K. Black Girl Makeup has been trending since 2020, but beauty influencer Uche Natori has taken it to a new level. Her secret is heavy contour followed by powder. She uses cream contour products and places them on the tip of her cheekbones. If you don’t have high or structured cheekbones, this is the perfect technique for you. Place the contour high on your cheeks. After blending the contour, follow with a bronzer powder.

Another critical element of Natori’s makeup is her concealer placement. She places it along the edge of her nose and brings it down to her lips. Remember, blending the concealer with a brush will result in better coverage.

2. Muted Pink Lippies

Nude lip combos trended all winter, but spring is ushering in more colors! Spring makeup trends call for soft, muted pink lippies. There are many ways to achieve this lip combo, but starting with a brown line is most important. Grab a matte pink lipstick and a sheer pink gloss to finish the lippie!

3. Soft Cut Creases

While cut creases have never gone out of style, they indeed have taken a backseat during the soft glam era. However, they are making a comeback — in a different fashion. Pull out your nude eyeshadow palettes this year and opt for a softer cut crease. The technique is similar to a regular cut crease but requires more blending. Before placing your lid color, use a fluffy eyeshadow brush along the edges. Be sure to use a light hand. Once you place the lid shade, use the same brush to blend the edger.

4. High Placement Blush

Blush has been making a comeback in the last few years, especially for Black girls. Still, the girls keep elevating the technique. Consider opting for a higher placement instead of placing the blush next to the contour. Find the outer corner of your eye, and right below that, blend in your blush. This technique can be achieved with both powder, cream, or liquid.

5. Softer than Soft Glams

The soft glam aesthetic has been the go-to makeup look for years, but as the weather gets warmer, more MUAs recommend something even softer. The soft glam, aka natural glam, beauty look requires minimal foundation and powder. Opt for cream and liquid products for contour while using a little blush to complete the beat. Top it off with lashes, and you are good to go!

In 2024, spring makeup trends are focused on softness and brighter colors, so don’t get left behind! Pull out those blushes and eyeshadow, and start practicing now! Remember, your facial structure is unique to you! As long as you feel beautiful, that’s all that matters.
