Beauty Looks Made a Splash on Milan’s Streets

Colorful hair was hot among show-goers spotted on the streets of Milan during the recent fashion week there featuring the men’s spring 2025 collections. Bright-pink, lime-green, strawberry-red and burnt-orange tresses all made unmissable fashion statements.

Some looks were humorous. A white crew cut came spangled with a yellow smiley face and a frowning one in purple. Elsewhere, gravity-defying tresses were gelled up to great heights and fashioned into spikes galore. Gel appeared to be the product of choice this season, with many slicking their hair down or upward to sculptural effect.  

Hair ornaments made a showing, too, with a bow here, a thorny crown there and barrettes popping up on heads.

Milan had a makeup moment, as well. While it’s true a lot of fashion fans opted for natural looks, there were others who took an opposite tact, sporting bold color cosmetics. Eyeliner winged out from either side of peepers and extended to the nose. Blush was not only brushed on to cheeks, but swept high over eyebrows. That came paired with matching lip color and baby-doll mascaraed lashes. Another person’s face, all powered white, served as a canvas from which popped their black-ringed eyes and lips that were painted blood-red.

It was a beauty season in Milan full of contrasts, making people-watching synonymous with a sneak peek into what trends might start trickling into the mainstream in the not-too-distant future.
