THE HYARTS ARTIST SHANTIES WILL BE OPEN FOR THE SEASON THE WEEKEND OF 5/17!
Check out two shanty locations, at Harbor Overlook and Bismore Park. Meet Cape Cod artists and artisans working and selling their handmade, hand designed or hand crafted items. There is no fee to browse and of course if purchases are made it is a fabulous way to shop local and support the creative community. Artists frequently open early and stay late, and rotate weekly!

7/3- 8/16, 2024 Cape Cod Chamber Music Festival – Hailed by The New York Times as “a triumph of quality,” the Cape Cod Chamber Music Festival (CCCMF) announced its 2024 summer concert series, running from July 30-August 16, 2024. Celebrating its 45th season, the Festival presents 10 live performances over three weeks in five venues across Cape Cod. In what has become one of the region’s largest cultural events attracting thousands of concertgoers each year, this summer’s Festival is bursting at the seams with creativity and virtuosity. Prominently showcasing acoustic sounds, this year’s Festival is centered around the string quartet. Each week is anchored by back-to-back concerts by today’s leading string quartets: Borromeo, Ying, and Escher. Other Festival highlights include a free jazz concert, the Cape Cod debut of Tangent Winds, and more. The complete schedule is below and available at www.capecodchambermusic.org.

8/16, 17 & 18, 10AM – 5PM, Chatham Festival of the Arts, Chase Park – 120 juried local and national artisans and craftsmen exhibitors will offer pottery, jewelry, photography, fabric, metal, stone, wood, and fine art. A children’s tent will feature face painting and art activities. Shuttle bus available at the Chatham Community Center and at the Creative Arts Center, running continuously. Food and refreshments served by gourmet food trucks. Free admission!!
8/16, 10AM, Chatham Environmental Fair, Chatham Community Center – Come learn about a variety of environmental issues (and solutions) from several local organizations, and also shop for some great native plants to support your local ecosystem! Free to attend. Find out more here.
8/17, 12PM – 5PM, Buzzards Bay Food Truck and Craft Beer Festival, Mass Maritime Academy – Spend your afternoon enjoying 20 of Massachusetts’s most beloved food trucks and the finest craft beers from the region – along with lawn games, face painting, music, a 50/50 Raffle, and an artisan market with local businesses and crafters. This is a family-friendly event. General admission is $5 in advance, $10 day of – get yours here.
8/17, 9:30AM, West Barnstable Village Festival and Rail Fan Day, Meetinghouse Way – Food, live music, and all kinds of family fun will happen during this village celebration! Enjoy a narrated scenic train ride, a classic car show, face painting, a dunk tank, organized games with prizes for children, a bake sale, a 50/50 raffle, balloons, and more. Volunteers welcome! 8/17 & 8/18, Outer Cape Music Fest, Elks, Eastham – 2 days of fabulous love performers, local food (including oysters!), beverages, craft vendors, and community spirit! Acts include Natalia Bonfini, Sarah Burrill, The Groovalottos, and more of your favorites. All proceeds go to local nonprofits. Get tickets and check out the lineup here.

8/17, 10AM, 4th Annual Wampanoag Heritage Day, Heritage Museums and Gardens – A celebration of Wampanoag culture at featuring performances by the Wampanoag Nation Singers and Dancers and hands-on activities. All activities and demonstrations are free with admission. More here.

8/22, Wellfleet Youth Film Festival Deadline, Wellfleet Preservation Hall – Prez Hall has announced something brand new – a Film Festival for young producers aged 7-21. Several different categories can be submitted in one of 3 age groups. Films must be a minimum of 1 minute long, and a maximum of 7 minutes long, and must adhere to G or PG rating standards. 8/23, 7PM, Entrain Concert at the Mashpee Commons Bandstand – FREE and open to the public! Snacks and brews available for purchase – come help Entrain celebrate 29 years of entertaining and recording! 8/24, Wellfleet PorchFest – Wellfleet Porchfest is looking for a few good volunteers to help make the festival a great success once again! This year we will have more porches, and more musicians, than ever before! You can indicate your interest by filling out the webform here, or sending email to [email protected]. Volunteers all receive invitations to the musicians after party as well.
8/24, 10AM, Plymouth Waterfront Fest – The annual tradition continues – highlighted by the annual duck race, two stages of live entertainment, an arts & crafts show featuring over 200 exhibitors, and the Rebels and Rods Cruise In Car Show. 8/24, 11AM, 3rd Annual CBI Tomato Fest, Chatham Bars Inn – Enjoy complimentary tomato tastings, lawn games and live music, plus the Farm Stand will be open with fresh veggies and CBI’s culinary team will offer BLTs and more. Free to attend, but you must register here.
8/24, 6:30 – 9:30PM, Orleans PD Block Party, Main St, Orleans – Main Street in Orleans will be closed for a giant community block party hosted by the Orleans PD! Come enjoy antique and classic cars, live music, food, and more.
8/24 & 8/25, 12th Annual Kill Tide Arts & Crafts Festival, Drummer Boy Park, Brewster – Shop from over 100 booths of American made arts and crafts; admission is free. Rain or shine.
8/24, 10AM, Annual Cornbread Festival, Stony Brook Grist Mill, Brewster – Stop by the gristmill to sample a piece of homemade cornbread made using the mill’s own stone ground organic cornmeal . This is the last day to pick up some cornmeal for your fall and winter baking (cornmeal can be stored in the freezer for future use.) Family friendly. Admission to the mill and museum is free!

9/1, 11AM, Veterans Rock, Hyannis Village Green – Hosted by the Cape and Islands Veterans Outreach Center, this day-long inaugural music fest will pay tribute to our local veterans – and feature veteran-owned food vendors as well. The event is open to the public and free to attend – come enjoy live bands playing throughout the day. 9/7 – 9/8, Chatham Fall Craft Festival, Chatham Community Center – Come browse from among 55 select Artisans of American made works – friendly pets on leashes are welcome, admission is free, and it’s rain or shine! 10-5 Saturday and 10-4 Sunday.
9/6 – 9/8, Eastham Windmill Weekend, Windmill Village Green – Come enjoy this three-day festival celebrating the town’s history – featuring the Great Tricycle Race, a sand-art contest, a parade, vehicle and craft shows, road race, scavenger hunt, kids’ games, musical entertainment and food vendors on the Windmill Green! 9/7, 12PM, Seaside LeMans, Mashpee Commons – The 2024 Race for the Cape Cod Community is on! Come watch the excitement as representatives from local businesses race Formula One European-style racing karts around a custom built track in an endurance race to see who can complete the most laps, and to raise money for several deserving local nonprofits! It’ll be a fun day for the family, too, with kids’ activities, music, and fun demonstrations throughout the day. Come cheer on your favorites! All the details are here.
