Your SS25 New York Fashion Week cheat sheet is here

Kicking off fashion month, New York Fashion Week is back, and it has the potential to be better than ever. Many New Yorkers may have declared NYFW “dead” over the past couple of years – or at least overrun by teens finding flyers from TikTok – but an undeniable renewed energy was injected into its veins in 2024 (thanks, in part, to Beyoncé’s suprise Luar cameo in February). With Off-White making its NYFW debut and Willy Chavarria continuing to redefine American fashion, there are plenty of new brands and old favourites debuting their Spring/Summer 2025 collections to enjoy, along with the usual slew of afterparties. Scroll down for more on the upcoming events you won’t want to miss.

The week begins with some heavy hitters, with Area, Collina Strada, and Willy Chavarria all showcasing their upcoming collections on Friday, September 6. Chavarria’s show is particularly anticipated after he recently dropped a line of ripped and tattered undies covered in artisanal piss, and the title, América, suggests a timely collection for an election year. Then Off-White’s Duty Free show at 12pm (EST) on Sunday, September 8, is set to be the New York Fashion Week highlight this season, as the brand skips Paris Fashion Week to join the American designers. Last season, Dazed editor-in-chief IB Kamara presented a vibrant and zestful collection in the French capital, so Off-White’s first show in the Big Apple is not only a major win for NYFW itself, but it will also mark the beginning of a series of more New York-centric actions. The show will be followed by Sandy Liang at 3pm and Eckhaus Latta at 8pm, on the same day.

On Tuesday, September 10, Elena Velez will debut her partnership with OnlyFans at the designer’s largest show yet, La Pucelle, at 6pm. The show will continue the investigation of the brand’s “shadow woman”, followed by potential Beyoncé sightings at Luar’s regular evening spot to close the penultimate day. Then emerging designer Zoe Gustavia Anna Whalen will host a dinner performance with artist Quori Theodor on Wednesday, September 11, in a New York art gallery. This season will also include two other rising stars, Gabe Gordon, a knitwear designer who is making his NYFW debut, and Theophilio, who’s returning to the schedule after a two-year hiatus.

As usual, most New York Fashion Week after-parties are designed to be “exclusive”, but that doesn’t stop many from trying their luck at the door. Aside from the usual post-show raves (usually thrown at The Standard), [Neu]Sette will bring Head of State’s Soundsystem back to Brooklyn in collaboration with Manual on September 6, Grailed is throwing a Fashion Week Party on September 7, and Luka Sabbat is throwing a party with Axel Arigato and DJs Las Flaquitas and Kitty Ca$h at the end of NYFW, on September 13. With the Armory Show, New York’s art fair, overlapping with fashion week festivities, plenty of art parties are also happening across the city, including the Strada Nuova: New Road opening at Strada Gallery on September 6.
