Barnwood Blessings Holds Open House in Expanded Location
The Alleghany Highlands Chamber of Commerce and Tourism sponsored a ribbon cutting at Barnwood Blessings, 376 W. Main St., Covington, last Friday morning.
“What a great way to celebrate your three-year anniversary,” said Teresa Hammond, Executive Director, AHCC&T. She explained that the business had started in Lori Conner’s She Shed. The business was moved to a location, a few doors down from its current location, but quickly grew out of that location. “We are here to celebrate the expansion of Barnwood Blessings and we thank you for the investment that you have made here in the Alleghany Highlands,” added Hammond.
Kathleen All, offered congratulations on behalf of the AHCC&T, saying, “we certainly appreciate you guys sharing your talent and your crafts with our area. Absolutely amazing talent can be seen throughout the shop,” said All.
“It’s always exciting when a business opens on Main Street and it’s even more exciting when that business gets too crammed and must expand,” said David Crosier, vice-mayor, Covington. “We thank you for your investment and the city of Covington wishes you nothing but the best.
Clifton Forge Mayor Jeff Irvine offered congratulations on behalf of the town of Clifton Forge and Suzanne Adcock-Nicely, Finance Director, Alleghany County Board of Supervisors, offered a thank you on behalf of Alleghany County.
“You’ve done incredible things in three years and I’m so proud to have you here in our community,” said Adcock-Nicely. She told the story of meeting a couple in Clifton Forge who had traveled from Roanoke to shop at BB. “It’s becoming a destination and it’s exciting,” added Adcock-Nicely.
Bryan Thompson, Alleghany Highlands Economic Development Corporation offered congratulations on behalf of the EDC. “What you’ve accomplished so far is amazing. We hope to continue to see you expanding,” said Thompson.
“We are just humbled and so appreciative of the amazing outpouring of love and support this community has shown us in the past several years,” said Lori Conner, as she thanked the group assembled. It took a lot of hard work and a lot of prayer,” added Lori. Her husband and co-owner, Chris, added that arriving at today “has been in process for about 17 years.”
Barnwood Blessings is a handcrafted collection of wooden rustic farmhouse décor, furniture and accessories for any home or business. They also carry women’s clothing, shoes, accessories, jewelry, and Myra Bag items. An open house was also held last Saturday
