Forces of Fashion 2023: Best beauty moments from Vogue India’s second edition

Vogue India’s flagship event, Forces of Fashion came out with its second edition on 29th November 2023. The soirée was held in the opulent Trident Hotel at Nariman Point, Mumbai this year, led by Vogue India’s Head of Editorial Content, Rochelle Pinto. The evening gala this year focused on the creative minds of the industry and scintillating conversations on the latest trends, the industry’s sustainability notion, and the preservation of indigenous crafts, a theme that the revered guests of the evening were extremely well versed in. From B-town’s finest such as Karisma Kapoor, Vijay Varma, and Sonam Kapoor to ingenious industry experts the likes of Falguni and Shane Peacock, Anaita Shroff Adajania, and Masaba Gupta were in attendance, bringing with them noteworthy beauty moments. Intricate hairdos, dark and dramatic eyes, and sultry lip shades were the essence of the night.

Models, actors, designers, stylists, and image makers galore, the Forces of Fashion evening was an amalgamation of experimental beauty moments, that are equally important when creating the ultimate red-carpet look. Khushi Kapoor’s dark romantic look truly takes the cake, with a slight finger curl low knot and noir makeup to accompany her black Jean Louis Sabaji structured tuxedo-esque dress. The makeup was a beautiful ode to gothic makeup with heavy kohl-rimmed eyes and buffed-out winged eyeliner, artfully laid out on a shimmery brown-toned base. To match the brown tones of her bronzy look, she opted for a chocolate brown lip and a highlighter. Dark and dramatic was definitely the theme of the night with Karisma Kapoor also opting for the vampy aesthetic donning a sharp suit from Elie Saab. Her cosmetic ensemble was a curation of a deep red lip, kohl-rimmed eyes on a nude base, and a touch of highlighter. Following the dramatics, Sobhita Dhulipala also opted for a bold red lip, the perfect accessory for her edgy outfit comprising of a leather jacket, a causal blue button-down, and black trousers. Her chic updo was the perfect touch, with its side part and a curled lock of hair framing her visage.

The iconic hair and makeup artist, Namrata Soni, curated Sonam Kapoor’s shimmery beauty look accompanied by a braided slicked-back knot. Her orange Giambattista Valli ensemble was perfectly matched with a seamless base and a glossy orange-toned lip and blush duo. For the eyes, the actress opted for a shimmery eyeshadow and a kohl-rimmed tighline. Speaking of slicked-back hairdos, Natasha Poonawalla’s hair was an absolute piece of art. The intricate ‘do consist of multiple bubble braids in a Viking-esque edgy look. The hairstyle was the vision of hairstylist Yianni Tsapatori. The slicked updo also consisted of clean parts all across the back of her head, meeting at the start of the ponytail. To match the Avant Garde updo, Natasha Poonawalla’s makeup was just as graphic and creative, featuring a bronzed high shine base with double graphic winged liner and a nude lip.

Celebrities who also made the best hairstyle list include, Bhumi Pednekar’s messy swept-back hairdo, Ayesha Kanga’s straight hair adorned with a black headband, Tamannaah Bhatia’s messy loose waves, and Masaba Gupta’s lustrous sleek straight hair. Tamannaah Bhatia’s clean girl makeup was veritably one for the books. The night was full of blessed beauty moments like so, bringing a sophisticated charm to the event, with some of Indian Fashion’s greats.
