Boots revamps iconic 90s and 00s beauty brand with prices as low as 99p

There’s been a resurgence of many fashion and beauty trends that many millennials grew up with this year.

From Barbie-core makeup to side fringes, 2024 has been a trip down memory lane for those of us who grew up in the 90s and early 00s. Now Boots is cashing in on the nostalgia by bringing back one of its makeup brands – Natural Collection.

As reported by OK!, the Boots own beauty brand launched in 1988 and served us all with low-cost make-up bag essentials to give us the trendiest looks of the moment. Well before the likes of Charlotte Tilbury and Supergoop! entered the market, we were all spending our pocket money on this affordable brand.

Now, after largely disappearing from Boots stores, the brand is back with a fresh new packaging look. Even better, you can still restock your cosmetics bag for less, as the prices online start from as little as just 99p, with a maximum RRP of £5 for a Tinted Face Base.

It’s also ideal for those who are eco-friendly, as the products have been made from at least 30 percent recycled materials. Meanwhile, the formulas are entirely vegan, cruelty-free and composed of at least 90 percent natural original ingredients.

This initial release sees 100 products launched onto Boots, with plans for further expansion into bath and body care in the pipeline.

Here is what you can expect from the Boots Natural Collection:

Skin Tint, £5 here.

This lightweight skin tint is infused with chamomile extract, leaving your skin feeling hydrated and dewy. Offering sheer to light coverage, this blendable formula will enhance your natural complexion.

It also comes in an impressive range of 20 shades for all skin tones, with both light and dark options available.

Concealer, £4 here.

Designed to complement the Skin Tint, this concealer is available in a selection of 15 inclusive shades. It promises creamy, blendable coverage with a formula enriched with chamomile extract for a radiant finish.

This lightweight formula offers light to medium coverage, giving you a natural look.

Lengthening Mascara, £3 here.

This durable lengthening mascara is formulated with chamomile extract to make lashes appear longer. We also think it bears a resemblance to REFY, judging solely by the packaging.

Whether it was inspired by the influencer-favourite brand or not, we believe it looks far more luxurious than its £3 price tag suggests.

Lip Gloss, £3.50 here.

This feather-light lip gloss, infused with coconut and vegetable oil, leaves lips feeling hydrated and pampered. The lip-friendly formula is available in five flattering shades.

Alongside the revamped Natural Collection range, Boots has introduced 49 new beauty brands to its portfolio over the past year, including Milk Makeup, Bubble, REM, Kerastase and many more. There’s plenty to watch out for!

Beauty deal of the week

If you’re looking for a beauty bargain, then Amazon is a treasure trove of deals that will help you restock your cosmetics bag on a budget.

The online retail giant regularly offers a range of beauty deals every day, with some top-rated brands included. When we checked today (April 29), we spotted the “creamy” Nivea Hyaluron Cellular Filler Anti-Age Night Cream reduced by more than half price.

Boasting an overall 4.4 rating, this ‘intensive’ anti-ageing cream is a combination of powerful anti-age actives that are said to provide a “filler” effect to the skin within 24 hours. It uses magnolia extract to keep your skin “soft” and “non-greasy”.

However, it is the inclusion of two types of hyaluronic acid that makes this anti-ageing cream a must for many. In addition with folic acid, it is said to leave your skin looking “younger” and “fuller”, according to reviews.

Right now, you can bag this “lush” cream for just £8.25 for a 50ml tub, down from £17.49 – a total saving of 53 percent. Superdrug also has it on offer for £8.74, while major retailer Boots still stocks it for full-price.

Included in ‘Amazon’s Choice’ of products, this affordable night cream has been impressing even sceptical skincare enthusiasts who say it “does exactly as promised” and has “filled in parts of their face.”

One happy customer wrote: “I like this cream very much I thought my skin looked fuller and younger looking.”
