Irish celebrities wow on the red carpet at the annual VIP Style Awards

Muireann O’Connell, Lyra, Glenda Gilson, Erica-Cody, Lottie and Bonnie Ryan are among the well-known faces dolled up to the nines at the five-star resort – where the ceremony was held for the first time back in 2001.

Nominees spent the day getting primed for photographs at an exclusive VIP Glam suite, with title sponsor Platinum Hair Extensions back once again ensuring that every attendee has a good hair day, while Laura Mercier was hand to get everyone glammed up.

Tan partner Dripping Gold and nail partner 14 Day Mani have also worked their magic, as the InterContinental has transformed into a sea of glowing bronze beauties with picture perfect talons.

This evening’s bash now in its 21st year, is hosted by Ireland’s Fittest Family host and former Miss Sunday World Laura Fox, who is stealing the spotlight in a show-stopping Barbarella-esque gown constructed from shards of silver.

The Galway beauty revealed that the dress is “actually a costume” that she borrowed from a friend.

“She got it for a fancy dress party and I was like, ‘when are you ever going to wear it again?’ and I was like, ‘I’ll wear fancy dress!’”

She’ll be handing out gongs to the country’s best dressed showbiz favourites across nine categories later tonight: Most Stylish Woman, Most Stylish Online Influencer, Look of the Year, Most Stylish Newcomer, Most Stylish Man, Favourite Irish Designer, Favourite Irish Stylist, The Sustainable Style Award, and Best Dressed On the Night.

Plus, the exciting Icon of the Year award will be bestowed on one special guest – and everyone is eager to find out who’ll take the crown.

Laura, fresh from her stint on Dancing With the Stars after narrowly missing out to former Paralympic sprint runner Jason Smyth and his pro partner Karen Byrne, can catch up with her fellow contestants Rosanna Davison and Katja Mia in Ballsbridge too, as both starlets could take home a coveted Platinum VIP Style Award tonight.

But the RTÉ reunion doesn’t stop there. Pro dancer Laura Nolan is a vision in white tonight with her Love Island boyfriend Matthew MacNabb in tow and Arthur Gourounlian is ready to cheer on his husband Brian Dowling, who is nominated for the Most Stylish Man award.

The pair are set to become parents for the second time this July as Brian’s sister Aoife is acting as their surrogate once again – almost two years after she helped welcome their daughter Blake into the world.

They were eager to gush about their incoming bundle of joy on the red carpet but are keeping the baby’s gender a secret after finding out the news before Christmas.

We’ll have all the winners and more pictures from the glamourous event tomorrow and in Sunday’s paper.
